Flagship lab

Revenue Signal Lab

A working method for Ad Monetization App Analytics: take a noisy mediation week, keep the numbers honest, and leave with a brief you can defend in a product review.

Who this is for

Monetization managers, product owners, and UA leads who already open MAX, AdMob, ironSource, or a bidding console every Monday and still leave stand-up arguing about “the number.” If you have never seen a mediation export, start with Mediation Stack Literacy instead.

The lab assumes you can get a CSV out of your stack. We do not provision inventory, sign network contracts, or run your UA. That is a real limitation, not a footnote: without demand, analytics only describes emptiness more clearly.

Modules

  1. The week as a file

Import a real export. Map impressions, revenue, country, format, and network without letting the UI rename your columns. You will leave with a reproducible sheet, not a screenshot folder.

  2. eCPM is a ratio, not a mood

Decompose price from volume. Learn when a “good eCPM day” is actually fewer sessions wearing nicer clothes.

  3. Fill without the average

Break fill by geo, format, and hour. Thailand and the rest of SEA are not a single row, even if your dashboard offers one.

  4. Auction density and leftover waterfalls

Read bidding reports beside any remaining waterfall instances. Decide what still needs a floor and what only needs patience.

  5. Session quality and SDK budget

Join revenue to crash-free sessions and ad latency. A faster SDK that steals tap targets is not a win, even if eCPM ticks up.

  6. The one-page brief

Write what moved, what you checked, and what you will not change yet. Office hours exist to argue with that page, not to decorate it.

What you should be able to do afterward

  • Explain a revenue swing without blending away the geo that actually moved.
  • Tell UA and product which metric is the constraint this week.
  • Spot when a floor change is covering for a session drop.
  • Produce a brief that finance can read without a mediation glossary.

Instructor

Nalinee Prasert

Nalinee ran in-house monetization for a Bangkok studio shipping casual and midcore titles across SEA. She now leads the Revenue Signal Lab from the Ramkhamhaeng desk. She still prefers a CSV to a vendor “insight” card, and she will say so in office hours.

Questions we actually get

Do you connect to my mediation account?

No. You export; we teach from the file. If your vendor forbids exports, this lab is the wrong purchase until that changes.

Will my eCPM go up?

Not as a promise. Some teams find wasted floor settings. Others discover the demand simply is not there on Tuesday mornings in two countries. Clarity is the outcome we sell.

Is there a real limitation I should know?

Yes. The lab cannot create advertisers, fix a broken SDK integration, or override store review. If your fill problem is a missing adapter, analytics will only confirm it. We will tell you that early.

Can a whole team join?

House Residency on the seats page is built for that. The flagship lab itself is sized for one operator plus a guest at office hours.

Notes from people who sat the lab

The SDK budget module was the part I did not expect. We had been blaming mediation for a tap delay that started in our own interstitial timer.

★★★★☆

Solid on exports. I wanted more time on bidding reports; the waterfall examples still outnumbered the bidding ones in my cycle.
